Es Talaier

Platja des Talaier is 13 km from Ciutadella, between the des Pinar and de na Bruna points, and under the tower Talaia d’Artrutx (62 m high, 350 m from the sea and built in the XVI century). This bay has two beaches separated by a large wedge of rock, one faces west and the other (with no sand) faces east. The bay is small and remote, with pine-trees close to the shore and fine white sand with a dune system at the back. It faces south-east/south/south-west and has light breezes and calm water with a gentle drop. It is not advisable to moor boats in this narrow bay. On the right-hand side there is a dangerous reef called Escull del Governador which is marked with a yellow buoy.

Access by road is easy until Arenal de Son Saura but keep an eye on the signs so that you don’t get lost on these narrow country lanes. There is free parking and from here you follow a coastal footpath which takes about 20 minutes.

Please obey all safety instructions and keep an eye on the flags. Red means danger and no entering the water. Yellow means that you can swim but with caution. Green means that it is safe to swim. Orange means that there is normally a lifeguard but that he is not present. Enjoy, but it is important that you use your common sense at all times and do not take unnecessary risks. Domestic pets and animals are not allowed on the beach.
